A Solution After 15 yrs of Migraines

A recent study told the story of a woman who had migraines and headaches that woke her from her sleep. She also had nausea and skin rashes.

It would be hard for many to imagine the impact this would have on one’s quality of life.

For 15 years she sought answers, trying prescriptions, reflexology, massage and Tylenol.

Despite her efforts, she was unable to find a solution.

When she decided to try chiropractic, she finally experienced the relief she was looking for, with her headaches completely resolving during her initial phase of care over just a few months.

She learned the importance of caring for our spine and nervous system and decided to continue care on a wellness basis to make sure her health continued to improve and she would not develop any new ailments.

I would love a follow up with her now to see if her other symptoms improved over time as we often see in our office.

Its great to read papers like these as the research supporting chiropractic’s wide range of application and efficacy continues to pile up.

Abstract

Objective: To describe the positive health outcomes in a patient suffering from chronic migraines and hypnic headaches.

Clinical Features: A 59-year-old woman suffered from chronic migraines and hypnic headaches along with nausea and skin rashes. Her migraines began 15 years prior and significantly affected her quality of life. Medical care consisted of prescription for Relpax, self-directed reflexology, massage and Tylenol. Despite these approaches to care, they did not resolve her headache complaints.

Intervention and Outcome: The patient was cared for with Thompson Terminal Point and the Webster Coronal Suture Technique. The patient attended care at twice per week for 3 months and then once per week for 6 weeks. The patient experienced resolution of her headaches and continued salutogenic based chiropractic care.

Conclusions: This case report provides supporting evidence that patients suffering from migraines and hypnic headaches may benefit from chiropractic care.
