Father’s Day- Men’s Health

Often times, their own health is the last thing that dads prioritize.

They work self into the ground providing for their family and ignoring the aches and pains their body uses to tell them something is wrong.

Moms are great providers too, but often they are better about taking care of their own health as well.

We have seen many dads that put off self care, exercise and healthy eating because of not having enough time, inconvenience or because they think they can handle it down the line when they have a greater need to do so.

Whether physical work, a desk job, or anything in between, the stress takes a toll on the body.

We need balance in our lives.

If you work a tough, manual job, make sure you are doing the right things to keep your body aligned and able to handle the physical stress.

If you work a desk job, make sure you are countering the sedentary hours with things that keep the body in motion like a standing desk or frequent breaks.

Many will put off taking care of themselves because they are too busy taking care of the family.

Really, we should prioritize our own self care because it is presence of health that allows one to care and provide for the family.

Be consistent with your self care, whether it be diet, exercise, or other means like chiropractic, because it is easier to preserve health than cure disease.

Many ailments are lifestyle related, but instead of a preventative approach, most don’t make changes until a disease or condition has manifested.

Dads, you owe it to yourself and your family to take care of your health!

If you won’t do it for you, then do it for those that depend on you to be there.

Some of the most common and deadly conditions taking out men today, like cardio vascular disease or diabetes, are completely preventable diseases largely dependent on lifestyle choices.

This year, let’s make sure Dad starts taking care of himself.

Chiropractic care can be a integral part of this!

Don’t wait until you are in pain to get checked by your chiropractor!

While chiropractic is great with spinal pain, the reason we adjust the spine is not actually to treat pain.

Chiropractors address spinal alignments with gentle specific adjustments because of that is inside your spine, the nervous system.

Chiropractic aims to restore balance to the body by removing interference to proper neurologic function

It’s your nervous system that regulates every function in the body, from getting you ready to compete or fight, to shifting into a rest, digest and healing state.

Every system, organ, gland, muscle, tissue and cell receives its commands from the brain via nerves.

Proper transmission of these signals means the body is in ease and can function as it was designed to.

When we have spinal misalignments inhibiting the flow of these signals, the body is in dis-ease and cannot function properly.

This impaired neurologic function makes us more likely to grow into disease conditions or pain syndromes.

It takes time to grow into things just like it takes time to grow out of them.

Do you future self a favor and take care of your body before you think you need to.

Eat well, exercise, and get checked regularly by a neurologic chiropractor

It will save you time, money, and lots of potential pain and suffering in the future.

Hope everyone had a great Father’s Day!
